Summer Lovin...

Let me introduce you to our new neighbor, Raven!  Isn't she adorbale?  Will just loves her!

Charlie's Angel's!

Posing with sweet Raven!

Ignore the chocolate popscicle that's all over Will's face...we just wait and hose em' off before we go inside!

a little bit-of-sidewalk chalk fun!

And the sprinkler...

Our first summer bounty!!  I feel all "little house on the praire-ish"! Let me just say those beans were good...best I've ever had.  maybe because I was sweatin while I was picking them and I went inside and washed, snapped and cooked them! It made me feel GREAT! I know...I can't help myself!

my helper!

Will wanted mommy to get in the water with him...so I did!

Chick-Fil-A kids night

I'm always up for an excuse NOT to cook.  I LOVE to cook big meals..like Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas,etc... It's the everyday cooking that I get bored with.  I get in these kicks where I plan out meals and I do good for about 2 weeks and then it goes down hill! Ok...back to kids night.  So we needed to make a quick trip to home depot ( another one of our fav.hangouts) and I suggested that we take the kids to Chick-Fil-A....since Tuesday's are kids nights.  Obviously I've never been and maybe all of them are not the same?? I had heard they did some type of craft and that was true...that part was nice.  The not so nice part was that the "cow" was out walking around...mingling with the crowd.  It was a nice touch at first...until Will became OBSESSED with the cow! Like...he couldn't eat and started screaming at the cow! It was funny at first and it's funny now talking about it....but it got to the point where Greg and I were like "we gotta get him outta here...FAST"! I actually thought he would be scared.....NOT!! Will just became more and more comfortable with the cow....like he was his long lost friend or something! Let's just say he cried/screamed pretty much the whole way home saying " I want cow, I want cow"! I'm OK if we don't see that cow again for another year!  We couldn't go that long without eating Chick-Fil-A....we just won't be going on kids night!

till next time! Kyla

Father's Day Weekend!

This weekend was great!  Greg was with us for the whole weekend, which is a rare event given his crazy firefighter schedule!  Friday night we went to a Durham Bulls game and the weather couldn't have been any better (very little humidity and a nice breeze =a happy mama). This was Will's first baseball game and I wasn't sure that we would be able to stay longer than for about 30 minutes :-) I am happy to report that he did fantastic and he LOVED IT!!  At the bottom of the 6th inning, we were all getting tired and started to pack up our mess plus it was after 9pm.  I told Will we were going home and he started to scream " NO, I want baseball"!!  It was so funny..we stayed for another 10 minutes and then left.  The funny part is that he was actually watching the game!!  I think we may have a ball player on our hands!
Saturday morning we headed to Duke Gardens for a family picnic with Greg's family and afterwards we went to the pool for a little while. I managed to get very few pictures due to chasing a wild toddler but I'll share what I have! Sunday we went to church with my grandparents ( and my dad too) then went to their house for lunch.  It was a really great day! Greg doesn't like for me to brag about him, but hey....you should give credit where credit is due!  Our kids have no clue how lucky they are to have such a wonderful daddy. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a "daddy".  Greg reminds me so much of his dad, Marvin, who passed away several years ago. Greg does everything and we truly are a team...he cooks, cleans, does laundry, changes diapers...whatever needs to be done.  He has patience beyond belief and he loves nothing more than to just stay home and hang out with his family. What I love most is that he knows the importance of teaching his kids about God's love and he shows that through his actions and words.  I Love you Greg and I am so thankful to have you as a husband.  Thank you for being an AWESOME daddy to Madi & Will....we are all SO VERY BLESSED. I am equally thankful for my dad...he means SO much to me!  Thank you dad for all you do and for being such a WONDERFUL GRANDPA!! These pictures are in random order...

                                                      HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Back in Action!

Hey to all my faithful blog readers...all 5 of you!!  Just kidding!  We are back from vacay and we need another one already!  The beach was awesome and delivered a wonderful fun filled week with family!  Lucky us, we've been invited to go again for another week in July with my aunt & uncle, my mom, and all the cousins.  I think the kids might out number the adults!! We can hardly wait! We got back from the beach and "home" life just picks up where we left off!  Our garden is growing like crazy and it needed alot of attention! Greg and I do have to work for a living...so we were BUSY playing catch up! We got Madi ready for a weekend camp...which by the way brought up so many memories for her parents( when we were teens)!  Madi went to Caswell and for those of you that have never been...you should go!  It's a wonderful place on the NC coast!  A sweet couple from our church graciously took 12 kids away for a weekend retreat!  They all had a blast! This past weekend was pretty low key.  The highlight was Madi coming home Sunday night! Summer has begun and have I mentioned before that I LOVE SUMMER!  Nothing like a good ole' matter samich!! Except for Greg who does not like raw tomatoes!  Bless his heart he does try one every summer, just to satisfy me!  I don't comprehend someone not liking a tomato...especially a homegrown..ripened by the sun tomato!  Nothing says summer any better than playing outside, swimming, running through a sprinkler, eating popsicles and just enjoying the great outdoors!!  Okay.....on to what you've been waiting for..the PICTURES!!  BEWARE: PICTURE OVERLOAD!!

Don't say I didn't warn you about all the pictures!  I mean when you take over 500, it's hard to pick out the good one's...I narrowed it down to 61! This last picture cracks me up...Madi had given Will this liquid sour candy...quite funny!  Anywho..we had a blast...We didn't leave a page un-turned and it was awesome! In my opinion, life doesn't get much better than that! Have a fabulous week and I promise I won't stay gone so long next time!  Till then.....keeping it real-Kyla
